Sometimes when I am gallivanting around in the deepest deeps of the inner-webs, I stumble upon something that makes me do a double take (almost broke my neck.) Apps & Hats is one of those funky, oops I mean quirky, little sites that did just that.

It doesn’t take long for you to realize what the site is about. Two girls in costumes, sitting on a couch, wearing hats and talking about iPhone apps. Actually more like giggling while trying to talk about iPhone apps. I mean who doesn’t love two attractive girls, in costume, giggling on a couch, talking about geeky stuff only us guys usually find  interesting. That’s just brilliant marketing tactics in my opinion, and maybe even a little unfair.

From what I can tell they are just starting out. They need a few things like a new logo and a custom WordPress theme which fits their whole concept a bit better. Though, for the most part, they appear to be off to a good start. They already have a giveaway for one of the game apps they reviewed. Five promo codes, which you could win one of, were provided by the apps’ developer. I think I am going to win one!

At this point I am not sure if they have plans of generating any kind of income from the site though, they might be able to pull it off with the right plans in place.

I do know they are going to be sending allot of publicity to their costume designer Kate Swindells. The costumes are great! I wonder if they are going to be showcasing many other talents like Kate in the future?

Also, I thought I should let you know that they have a rating system in place that they use to rate the different apps. I recommend you reading up on it so you know what they are talking about as far as their point system is concerned.

Well, I am looking forward to new shows in the future with the girls wearing different costumes, hopefully talking about some really cools apps that I haven’t already heard of.

Looks like the girls decided to show me a little love. The N8 logo is up on their homepage and it leads to a post called “Review of A & H on Natetronn.” That’s not what I meant by “keep up the good work ladies!” but, I will take it for sure.
